Microsoft will rename the netbooks. When it comes to Redmond, to the small low-cost laptops for surfing, no optical drive and hot with a maximum 10-inch display "low-cost small notebook PCs" (LCSNPCs).
The proposal comes from Steve Guggenheimer, Microsoft general manager of Application Platform & Development Marketing.

superior time ... "I have a new netbook" might not sound as good as "Hey you've already seen my new LCSNPC?"
Mhh neee ... I do without now simply on stereotypes about marketing and confine myself to a quote: "Here's your sign".
